Privacy Policy

Summary

ToolVaults is a collection of browser-only utilities. The core of the site — the tools themselves — never sees your data. There are no accounts. We use privacy-respecting analytics and, on some pages, third-party advertising that follows the consent choice you make.

• Your inputs stay local. Anything you paste, upload, or type into a tool is processed on your device.
• No accounts, no tracking cookies from us.
• We use Cloudflare Web Analytics (cookieless, no fingerprinting).
• Ads (where shown) come from Google AdSense and follow the consent option you choose in the cookie banner.
• You control it. You can change your consent choice at any time from the “Cookie preferences” link in the footer.

Who this policy applies to

This policy covers everyone who visits toolvaults.net. If you use a browser feature that blocks cookies or analytics, this policy still applies but many of the sections below will be effectively no-ops for your visit.

Information we do not collect

• The contents of anything you process with a tool — text, files, JSON, images, code. Tool computation happens entirely in your browser.
• Names, email addresses, or account information. There are no accounts.
• Precise geolocation, device IDs, or health / biometric data.
• First-party tracking cookies. We do not set any.

Information collected automatically

Cloudflare Web Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-respecting analytics tool that does not use cookies and does not fingerprint visitors. It counts aggregate page views and referrers so we can tell which tools are useful. No cross-site or long-term profiles are built.

Server logs

Our host, Cloudflare, may retain standard server-log information (IP address, user-agent, timestamp, requested URL) for a short period for security, DDoS protection, and abuse prevention. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.

Advertising and third-party partners

ToolVaults may show third-party advertisements through Google AdSense to help fund the site. When ads are shown:

• Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies (including the DoubleClick DART cookie) to serve ads based on prior visits to this and other websites.
• Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you across the internet.
• You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
• You can opt out of a third-party vendor’s use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info, youradchoices.com, or youronlinechoices.eu.

We do not directly control any third-party ad partner. Their practices are governed by their own privacy policies.

Cookies

A cookie is a small file placed on your device by a website. We do not set any of our own cookies. The cookies you may encounter on ToolVaults come from:

• Google AdSense — for ad delivery, frequency capping, ad measurement, and (with your consent) ad personalization. Cookie names include _gads, _gpi, and IDE.
• Google Funding Choices — a small cookie to remember your consent choice so you don’t see the banner every visit.

We also store a few things in your browser’s localStorage to make the site useful — your recently used tools, your favorites, and any presets you save. These stay on your device, are never sent anywhere, and can be cleared by clearing your browser’s site data for toolvaults.net.

Consent (EEA, UK, and Switzerland)

If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we show a consent banner (via Google Funding Choices, a Google-certified Consent Management Platform) before any personalized advertising cookies are set. Your options are typically Consent, Manage options, or Do not consent. Personalized ads only serve if you consent; non-personalized ads may serve if you do not.

You can revisit and change your choice at any time using the “Cookie preferences” link in the site footer.

Your rights under GDPR (EEA / UK / Switzerland residents)

If you are in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, applicable law gives you rights over your personal data, including:

• The right to access personal data we process about you.
• The right to rectification of inaccurate data.
• The right to erasure (“the right to be forgotten”).
• The right to restrict processing.
• The right to data portability.
• The right to object to processing based on legitimate interests.
• The right to withdraw consent for processing based on your consent.
• The right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Because we do not collect direct identifiers ourselves, most of these rights are exercised via the third-party partners named above. For third-party ad cookies, use the opt-out links in the “Advertising” section. For Cloudflare-collected server logs, contact Cloudflare directly.

Your rights under CCPA / CPRA (California residents)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act and California Privacy Rights Act give you the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to delete it, the right to correct it, and the right to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information (including for cross-context behavioral advertising).

ToolVaults does not sell your personal information. Third-party advertising cookies (from Google, as described above) may involve “sharing” as defined under CPRA. You can opt out of this by declining consent in the cookie banner and by using the opt-out mechanisms linked in the “Advertising” section. You can also enable a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal in your browser, which we and our advertising partners respect where required by law.

Children

ToolVaults is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information via a third-party service, please contact us and we will help you remove it.

Data retention

We do not maintain a database of user records. Server logs held by our infrastructure providers are retained by them per their own policies (Cloudflare typically holds edge logs for a short period). Analytics data from Cloudflare Web Analytics is aggregate and does not identify individual visitors.

URL sharing

Many tools mirror their state into the page URL so you can bookmark or share a filled-in tool. If you paste sensitive data (secrets, personal information) and share the resulting URL, that data will be visible to anyone with the link. Treat URL-encoded state the same way you’d treat a public paste — remove sensitive fields before sharing.

Offline use

ToolVaults is a Progressive Web App. Once you’ve visited a tool, the browser caches its code so you can use it offline. Nothing is transmitted while offline — it’s the same in-browser computation.

Changes to this policy

If we materially change what data is collected or how it’s used, this page will be updated with a new “last updated” date. For material changes, we’ll surface a notice on the site. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
