How to use
- 1Start the camera
Tap "Start Camera" and allow camera access when prompted. Your browser will ask once.
- 2Pick a preset
Choose Cancel Blue or Daylight to cut through the blue/actinic reef lighting. Try each to see which shows your corals best.
- 3Flip if needed
Use the flip button to switch between rear and front cameras. Rear camera gives higher quality on phones.
- 4Capture and download
Tap "Capture" to save the current corrected frame as a PNG file.

Reef LEDs peak around 420–450 nm (blue/violet) to feed the zooxanthellae inside coral tissue. Phone cameras can't auto-white-balance through that heavy a blue cast, so everything looks washed out in blue. The Cancel Blue and Daylight presets apply color correction to show truer coral colors.

Cancel Blue is the most useful for seeing true coral colors under blue/actinic LEDs. Daylight is a warmer correction that mimics natural light. Actinic Pop emphasizes the blue/violet spectrum for dramatic display shots. Raw shows what the camera sees with no correction.
The preview draws each video frame to a canvas element and applies a CSS filter — this is hardware-accelerated but adds a tiny processing step. On most modern phones the delay is imperceptible.
